NOW YOU SEE ME, AUSTRALIAN SEA LIONS: A SARAH & SEBASTIAN SHORT FILM

SARAH & SEBASTIAN is honoured to present NOW YOU SEE ME, a series of short films, which aims to drive awareness around the challenges faced by Australia's most endangered marine life.

The first film in the series shines a spotlight on Australian sea lions, Australia’s only endemic marine mammal.

Directed and shot by photographer and filmmaker Alice Wesley-Smith, she and our Creative Director Sarah Munro travelled to the remote shores of the  coastal town of Baird Bay in South Australia, to capture footage of a unique, thriving colony of Australian sea lions in their home on Jones Island. There, they met and fell in love with these playful, curious creatures and set about to tell their story.

Australian sea lion numbers have fallen by 60% in just four decades, and are facing urgent extinction. Unique to our shores, these beautiful animals are found along the coastline of South and Western Australia. With only an estimated 6,500 adults left, they are now considered endangered as listed by the Australian Government in 2021.

Australian sea lions are one our rarest marine animals. Their playfulness, curiosity and sociable nature are wholly relatable to humankind. Their protection is paramount.” - Sarah Munro
This World Oceans Day, SARAH & SEBASTIAN is doubling down on our commitment to our charity partner The Australian Marine Conservation Society, on a mission to save Australian sea lions by pledging $25,000 and donating all proceeds from our limited edition 'Save Our Sea Lions' hat.

An independent Australian charity and a community of ocean lovers, scientists and educators, SARAH & SEBASTIAN proudly support the Australia Marine Conservation Society in their mission to protect our fragile marine species and the ecosystems they call home. Learn more about the campaign and donate to save Australian Sea Lions at marineconservation.org.au/sarahandsebastian or purchase a limited edition SAVE OUR SEA LIONS hat at sarahandsebastian.com, with all proceeds donated to the cause.
