THE STRAND ARCADE STORE OPENING
The sixth brick-and-mortar store for SARAH & SEBASTIAN finds its place in the iconic Strand Arcade, a heritage-listed shopping destination steeped in Victorian-style history, located in the heart of Sydney’s central business district. Situated amongst high-end jewellery retailers with traditional timber-framed shop fronts, our new minimalist monolithic store sits in stark contrast to its surroundings and features a higher-end offering focusing on diamonds and bridal pieces.
Designed by George Livissianis, the store’s architecture takes inspiration from modernist works of art. A restrained, minimalistic approach to design is reflected across the space, including the lighting, materials and compositions of the jewellery displays, with unified shapes and clean lines finished with polished steel and glass.
A cantilever-inspired cabinet featuring signature and seasonal jewellery pieces draws the eye in as a structured centrepiece. Adding contrast to the monochromatic gradient colour palette are Morgan Shimeld's custom-designed sculpture-like stools, crafted in solid bronze and hand-finished patina.
The store will see the exclusive debut of the new Suspense™ collection ahead of its official launch on the 10th of January 2023. A curation of signature fine jewellery, the collection celebrates SARAH & SEBASTIAN’s fundamental design ethos featuring pieces distinguished by a suspense-style setting giving the illusion of floating stones. Centred around five signature diamond cuts – round, marquise, oval, pear and emerald – each piece in the collection is handcrafted in the brand’s Sydney studio in 18-karat yellow and white gold, with accents of vivid green emeralds.
Beyond pristine jewellery exhibits, the store moves seamlessly from retail to the experiential, where intimate suites at the back of the store play host to both engagement ring appointments and our immersive SOLDERED™ experience. For their custom-fitted SOLDERED™ bracelets or rings, clients are invited to choose from a range of diamond and signature chains in 10-karat yellow or white gold as well as additional SLIDERS™ including diamond and birthstone styles.
