Your Ear Alchemy journey continues beyond the appointment, with expert aftercare designed to support optimal healing and lasting results.

Our approach blends clinical best practice with whole-body wellness. You'll receive personalised guidance along with our Nutrition & Lifestyle protocol — developed by a qualified naturopath to reduce inflammation, promote tissue repair, and support your body’s natural healing response.

We invite you to return within 4–8 weeks for a complimentary Aftercare appointment. During this session, your piercer will assess healing progress and perform a downsize — fitting a shorter post to reduce movement, improve comfort, and support the next phase of recovery.

DAILY AFTERCARE RITUAL

Incorporating piercing care into your daily routine supports faster, more comfortable healing.

Rinse your ear with tepid water in the shower to soften debris and prevent buildup.
Spray the area twice daily with NeilMed Piercing Aftercare Mist for approximately 4–8 weeks.

Gently pat dry with a clean cotton pad or tip — or use a hairdryer on a cool setting. Always ensure the area is thoroughly dry before bed, and avoid sleeping with wet hair.

Ear Spa

A modern ritual designed to care for your ears and elevate your styling. Once your piercing has begun to heal and you’ve completed your downsize, you’re invited to book a complimentary Ear Spa appointment.

Your SARAH & SEBASTIAN earrings will be professionally cleaned using ultrasonic technology and polished to restore the natural brilliance of your diamonds. Your ears are gently cleansed, revitalised, and your earrings reinstalled with care.

It’s the perfect moment to explore new designs, update your composition, or style pieces from your wishlist.

Available as a 15-minute standalone service or as an add-on to your Ear Alchemy appointment.

Nutrition & Lifestyle

Healing is not just physical — it’s whole-body. As part of your Ear Alchemy aftercare, our approach extends beyond the piercing with guidance designed to support your body’s natural recovery process.

Developed by a qualified naturopath and aligned with professional piercing and healthcare standards, our protocol takes a whole-body approach to healing — helping to reduce inflammation, promote tissue repair, and support cartilage renewal.

Nourish for Recovery

Choose a diet low in refined sugar and processed carbohydrates, which contribute to systemic inflammation. Instead, focus on whole foods, ancient grains, and healthy fats — nutrients that support cellular repair and immune strength.

Incorporate healing-rich foods such as:

  • Citrus fruits, leafy greens, green beans, nuts, and seeds — rich in vitamin C, zinc, iron, and silica
  • Organic berries, pomegranate, flaxseed, spinach, and dark chocolate — saturated with polyphenols known to accelerate healing and improve cartilage health

Reset and Renew

Each piercing marks a moment — a reset in both style and self-care. Prioritise sleep and moments of stillness. Rest when needed. Even the act of slowing your breath can help regulate cortisol (the body’s stress hormone), support immunity, and encourage deeper healing.

Downsizing

Each new piercing is initially fitted with a longer post to allow space for swelling. As your ear begins to heal, a downsize may be required — replacing the post with a shorter one that fits more closely against the ear for improved comfort and continued healing.

Not downsizing can allow excess movement, leading to irritation, swelling, or delayed recovery.

Your first downsize is complimentary. We recommend booking an Aftercare appointment within 6–8 weeks to assess healing progress and determine if you’re ready to downsize.
