PROFILE
In the pursuit of conceptual design merged with innovative craftsmanship, they established their eponymous label in 2012, and today work alongside a diverse team with multidisciplinary talents.
The designer’s birthplaces, Australia and Germany, led to a collision of inspiration; the natural world with European architecture and art. These themes continue to form the basis on which design inspirations emerge, like the ocean, which is a driving force for the label’s social and environmental values. A certified member of the Responsible Jewellery Council, SARAH & SEBASTIAN have long championed local manufacturing and to this day operate a workshop in Australia with with volume manufacturing supported by trusted international manufacturers, each RJC certified. Over the years they have developed a network of likeminded suppliers and operate a made-to-order model and repair workshop to reduce waste.
SARAH & SEBASTIAN have stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, collaborating with various leading architects to create unexpected spaces from unique perspectives. In a new chapter, the label introduced Services in 2021, with stores becoming destinations for piercing, Soldered bracelets and engagement appointments.
SARAH & SEBASTIAN has pledged to donate over a million dollars to ocean conservation within the next decade as part of their philanthropic initiative, The Xanthe Project.
The Xanthe Project supports four independent not-for-profit organisations including The Australian Marine Conservation Society, Ocean Impact Organisation, Take 3 for the Sea and the Coral Sea Foundation's Sea Women of the Great Barrier Reef program. Learn more here.
