OVERTONE

In gemmology, overtone refers to the subtle secondary hues that appear on the surface of a pearl—delicate flashes of pink, silver, or green that coalesce over the pearl’s main body colour.

This collection examines the internal world of the oyster; a self-contained ecosystem where water flows to circulate nutrients, creating the ideal conditions for a pearl to form. This process of filtration and layering informs each design. Structured curves follow imagined pathways of movement, referencing the oyster’s inner architecture.

Natural diamonds appear as suspended particles, carried in water. At the centre sits the South Sea pearl, shaped by time, tension and environment, and held within bespoke settings that honour its singular nature.

The Pearls of OVERTONE

At the centre of OVERTONE are pearls chosen for their extraordinary character.
Keshi pearls form the foundation of the collection: irregular, organic, and free-formed. They are pearls in their most instinctive, natural state. Their fluid surfaces echo the collection’s focus on movement and transformation.

Alongside them, larger South Sea pearls are crafted into bold necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Each one is suspended in 18 karat gold and natural diamonds that wrap, bend, and follow the shape of the pearl. Rather than forcing symmetry, the settings respond to the pearl’s own form; amplifying its lustre, its overtone, and the way light moves across
its surface.

Our connection to the ocean underpins our design philosophy, grounded in respect for marine environments and responsible sourcing. For OVERTONE, this means the careful selection of South Sea and Akoya Keshi pearls, chosen for their unique character and sourced from trusted farms across the South Sea and Asia–Pacific region.

In line with our Responsible Jewellery Council certification, we work with partners who uphold high environmental and ethical standards, supporting low-impact pearl cultivation in clean, monitored waters. Through our Xanthe Project initiative, we support ocean conservation, crafting beauty responsibly while helping protect the future of the environments that inspire us.
